Put It In A Love Song

One of my good friends, Elyza Carvajal, celebrated her coming of age last February 25, 2012 at Bellevue Hotel, Alabang. Before everything, during the stressful days of planning for it, she’d consult me about small matters since I’ve had my debut already and I was glad to help her even though it was little.

Her debut was more of her concert, being a singer that she is, Ely serenaded us for most of the night. I am really glad to be a part of her life and for most, to be able to be with her this night. Moreover, it was not only a good call to celebrate her day, but also to see my high school friends. Debuts are also mini-reunions you just can’t miss.

My pretty friends at the hotel lobby waiting for others to arrive. L-R: Sabrina, me, Boni, Janinne, Brigette and Myka.

Yes, she comes from a big family. She’s actually the youngest among five girls. Hearing her stories and rants about how her family was seldom complete as her 4 elder sisters were already in the States made me teary eyed when I captured them complete with the in-laws and nieces! It was such a nice sight to see. And I was very happy for my friend :)

Our table’s (Augustana), which by the wasn’t numbers but labeled with singers and bands she probably likes, complimentary photo. It’s our high school barkada complete + Brigette’s boy and one of our high school teacher, Sir Shaun and his wife!

Elyza R. Carvajal, now a lady. Stunning, isn’t she?

Our group was supposed to be her back-up dancers in one of her songs, but since we were all in college and schedules + locations didn’t permit practices, only those who, a.k.a me, Janinne, Brigette and Boni, could practice (THE NIGHT BEFORE HAHAHAHA) took the floor with the debutante. It was also like our girl to Ely as well :)

Well of course, after the program proper, there’s always the real party ;) Booze wasn’t served because Ely’s parents are.. “strict”. HAHAHA But it was sure fun! We don’t need booze to enjoy, we’ve got each other and that’s more than what we need! :>

Finally. It’s been so long since we were last complete because of college schedules. This feels home >:D< I love you girls! And again, happy happy birthday Ely! X

Hallmark Holiday 2012

The day brings hope of finding true and eternal love, Valentines’ Day.

This year, hearts’ day was not just hearts’ day- it was also our 21st month together. Separated by some 375 miles (600km) and seas, my girl decided to come over to Manila for the day. The last time we saw each other was last November so the thought of spending love day with her was definitely something to look forward to. Each minute seemed longer as I waited for her at the airport but when I finally saw her walking towards my direction, I was just inlove, all over again :”> (Excuse my mushy-ness, that’s how I always feel about her HIHI :D)

Having only 8 hours together, as she was to fly back to Cebu in the afternoon, we made the most out of every second. From the airport, I brought her to the LRT and to Taft- Vito Cruz to show her how I commute everyday and the environment I move in. Long lines, crowded trains were a part of my everyday world as I go to school and she’s a big part of me so I wanted to share to her my world. It was an adventure for her! :) And I am so glad that I was the one there to accompany her and “show” her around.

We didn’t get to spend much time around DLSU anymore though I wanted her to see where I eat lunch and all because we were catching the time. I’m pretty sure there’s a next time anyway. So after the commute adventure, we went to MOA (no pictures :() to watch The Vow. And yes, after 21 months, it was just the second movie we watched together. Dealing with long distance relationships huh? I don’t really mind.Though we don’t get to do as much of the thing usual couples do, it’s okay because..  I believe in our someday ♡

Her! With my gift (Christmas gift actually, it’s just that ngayon nalang kami nagkita HAHA What is delayed right?). She liked it so much she wanted to wear it though it wasn’t cold plus the fact that it’s in her favorite color- green! She was soooo cute :”> I got her jacket from a good friends business, Hot Mess Project. Check them out for great finds!

We didn’t plan it but we have the same phone! We usually C3M each other, BBM’s counterpart. HAHAHAHA. Inside joke ;)

Isn’t she the cutest? :)

Baby’s mad face. Though it looks more of in pain face, hahaha!

Baby’s normal face! Kidding. “AUTI”

Her sad face :( Since she’s leaving.

Hi baby :* Thank you so much for making this a very memorable day. A few hours is always better than ever. You never fail to make me feel special, coming all the way from Cebu was the sweetest thing :’) I love you so baby

“Distance is not for the fearful, it is for the bold. It’s for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love. It’s for those knowing a good thing when they see it, even if they don’t see it nearly enough.”

On the Other Hand

On the other hand, as my brother was in his JS Prom, my parents thought it would be impractical to drive home and come back for him after. Our house isn’t really far from Tagaytay but since it was a Friday, we just decided to spend the night there.

Since we’ve almost tried out most of the restaurants near the hotel where my brother’s prom was having been in Tagaytay often, my parents decided to just eat dinner at the hotel’s cafe.

Turones de Crepe for dessert. Traditional turon (banana in lumpia wrapper) but with a certain twist. Maybe it’s with the way it was presented- street food never looked this good!

Potato Halves! It tasted so good I actually had a second round of this.

Good stories, good company. It was a good dinner with my parents specially since we weren’t in a rush to do anything or to be anywhere. Because of this, it was assured that it wasn’t only my brother who had a good night.
